Fifty Fifty, K-Pop Rookie Sensation, Makes History on Billboard Hot 100
SEOUL, June 1 (Yonhap) – K-Pop sensation Fifty Fifty has achieved a remarkable feat by maintaining its presence on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 for an impressive 10 consecutive weeks, setting a new record in the process.
As per the latest singles chart released on Wednesday (U.S. time), the group’s song “Cupid” secured the 20th spot this week, slipping two places from the previous week’s position.
Notably, Fifty Fifty has become the first K-Pop girl group to have a song charting for 10 consecutive weeks on the prestigious Billboard Hot 100.
The quartet initially made its debut on the chart at No. 100 on March 28, establishing themselves as the fastest group to enter the chart after their debut in November. Since then, their track has consistently climbed up the rankings before reaching No. 18 and now settling at No. 20.
Furthermore, on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, “Cupid” has maintained its position at the top for two consecutive weeks. It has also secured the third spot on the Billboard Global 200 chart.
In other exciting news, “Angel Pt. 1,” the original soundtrack of the Hollywood action blockbuster “Fast X,” featuring Jimin from the K-Pop supergroup BTS, made its debut on the Hot 100 at No. 65. “Fast X” is the tenth installment of the highly popular Fast and Furious franchise.
